How do I ensure The Stream begins playing after losing power?

Open Myndstream when you start your machine and ensure music resumes when power does.

Setting Myndstream to open at login

macOS

Option 1: from the Dock (fastest)

  1. Open the Myndstream app so it appears in the Dock.

  2. Right-click (or Control-click) its Dock icon.

  3. Hover over Options.

  4. Click Open at Login so a tick appears beside it.

Option 2: from System Settings

  1. Open System Settings from the Apple menu.

  2. Go to General, then Login Items & Extensions.

  3. Under Open at Login, click the + button.

  4. Locate and select the Myndstream app, then click Open.

The app will now launch each time that user account logs in. On macOS Monterey and earlier, this setting lives under System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items.

Windows

Option 1: the Startup folder (works for a single app)

  1. Press Windows + R to open the Run box.

  2. Type shell:startup and press Enter. The Startup folder opens.

  3. In a second window, find the Myndstream app (usually in the Start menu or C:\Program Files).

  4. Right-click the app and choose Create shortcut, or hold Alt and drag it into the Startup folder to place a shortcut there.

Any shortcut in this folder runs automatically when that user signs in.

Option 2: manage existing startup apps

  1. Right-click the taskbar and open Task Manager.

  2. Select the Startup apps tab.

  3. Find Myndstream in the list, then use Enable or Disable to control it.

Keeping your soundscape playing after a restart or outage

To make sure your soundscape resumes after the app reopens or after a power outage, check that you are in advanced mode. Advanced mode lets you connect to the channels of your speaker system, which is useful when you have an audio interface with multiple channels and speakers across your locations.

What if I don't have an audio interface?

If you are not playing across multiple channels, and each device plays through its own speakers or connects to a single speaker over Bluetooth, connect your zone to the default channels. Your soundscape will then play through the default audio output of your device.

Once your channels are connected and music is playing, your soundscape will continue even if the app is quit and reopened, or loses and re-establishes power.
