Integrate Myndstream with your Audio Interface

Integrate Myndstream's music streaming service for businesses and spas with your existing networked audio hardware.

Myndstream integrates our music streaming service for businesses seamlessly with your existing networked audio hardware, the following example using the Dante platform.

If you are having trouble with your particular AV integration, please get in touch with us at [email protected]

Prerequisites

  • A Mac or Windows PC that is connected to both the internet and your Dante network

  • Dante Virtual Soundcard or equivalent audio interface installed on the PC

    • This can be purchased ($49.99) and downloaded from Dante here if you do not have it already

    • Ensure this is started with enough channels for the amount of Myndstream Zones you would like to setup

  • Myndstream Subscription

Steps

  1. Ensure Dante Virtual Soundcard's Sample Rate is set to 48kHz. Any Dante receivers, such as on a Q-Sys system or another Dante Receiver must be configured at 48kHz. If the latency is configurable on the receiver, we recommend setting this to 10ms, if this isn't available then the maximum will suffice.

    1. On Windows, you should use "ASIO" as the Audio Interface, click "Options" and ensure the "Buffer Size" is set to 2048, the "Encoding" is set to 32 bits / sample and the "Asio Latency" is set to 20ms - see the Dante docs here.

  2. Download and install the Myndstream app on the computer running Dante Virtual Soundcard.

    1. Open the Myndstream app and log in to your account.

    2. Under the "Zones" tab, create a Zone for each physical area at your location. Each Zone lets you choose different music for that space, intentionally.

    3. Click the profile button in the top-right corner, then "Settings," to open the Settings page.

    4. Toggle "Advanced Speakers Mode" on so each Zone can route to a separate Dante channel.

    5. Click "Confirm."

    6. Under "Zone Routing," click "Configure."

Graph Option (Best for Fewer Zones)

  1. Activate the desired zone

  2. Assign each zones to the appropriate channel on the Dante Soundcard by dragging and dropping the green zone marker to the desired channel marker.

Matrix Option (Best for Several Zones playing the same music)

  1. Activate the desired zone

  2. Check the boxes of each channel you wish to play in relation the associated zone

Your zones are now connected. You can control your playback remotely from your own device or from the active device used to set up the zones.
