Integrate Myndstream with your Dante Audio System

Integrate Myndstream's music streaming service for businesses and spas with your existing networked audio hardware using the Dante platform.

Myndstream integrates our music streaming service for businesses seamlessly with your existing networked audio hardware using the Dante platform.

Prerequisites

  • A Windows or Mac PC that is connected to both the internet and your Dante network

    • System Requirements:

      • Quad-Core Processor

      • 4GB RAM

  • Dante Virtual Soundcard installed on the PC

    • This can be purchased ($49.99) and downloaded from Dante here if you do not have it already

    • Ensure this is started with enough channels for the amount of Myndstream Zones you would like to setup

  • Myndstream Subscription

Steps

  1. Ensure Dante Virtual Soundcard's Sample Rate is set to 48kHz

  2. Download and install the Myndstream App onto the PC that is running Dante Virtual Soundcard.

  3. Open the Myndstream App and login to your account

  4. Choose "Manage your zones"

  5. Create a Zone for each of the physical areas inside of your location - each Zone allows you to be intentional and choose different music for that area

  6. Choose the first Zone you would like to setup by clicking "Change zone" in the bottom right corner and choosing the Zone from the popup window

  7. Open the Device Selector by clicking on "Playing on Will's Mac" in the bottom left corner - ensure your device is the active device (indicated by the blue background), otherwise click on your device and confirm to change the active device.

  8. Click on the "Speakers" button to open the configuration for the speakers - locate the speaker named "Dante Virtual Soundcard" (MacOS) or on Windows this may be shown as either "Dante Virtual Soundcard" if the virtual soundcard is running in ASIO mode or if running in WDM mode then it will be split into 2 channel pairs named "DVS Transmit 1-2", "DVS Transmit 3-4", etc.

  9. Click on the "Channels" button next to the "Dante Virtual Soundcard" speaker - this screen shows you all of the available channels for the "Dante Virtual Soundcard" and allows you to connect a channel to a Myndstream zone, and control the volume for that channel.

  10. Click on the "Play here" button next to the Channel that you would like to connect to the currently selected Myndstream Zone (in this case Spa Lobby) - you can connect multiple channels to a single Myndstream Zone if you would like to receive the same music on multiple channels

  11. Click on Home in the navigation bar, choose a category and click play on a playlist to start listening to music on this zone. This music will now be being broadcast on Channel 1 of this device on the Dante network

  12. Now that the first zone has been setup, click "Change zone" in the bottom right and choose another zone to setup

  13. Open the Device Selector by clicking on "Playing on Will's Mac" in the bottom left corner - ensure your device is the active device (indicated by the blue background), otherwise click on your device and confirm to change the active device.

  14. Click on the "Speakers" button and find the "Dante Virtual Soundcard" speaker

  15. Click on the "Channels" button and click on the "Play here" button next to the channel(s) that you would like to connect to the current zone (Treatment Room 1)

  16. Play another playlist to start listening to music on this zone. This music will now be being broadcast on Channel 2 of this device on the Dante network.

  17. You now have two zones setup and connected to your Dante network, these can play different music and can be controlled separately. Repeat the steps 5-10 for all of the remaining zones you would like to setup.

Remote Control

Now that you have setup and integrated Myndstream with your audio system - you can now allow Spa Therapists, Front of house or any other members of your team to choose the music for the different spaces from another device by following these steps:

  1. Open Myndstream in your web browser by clicking here and login to your account

  2. Click on My Account in the dropdown in the top right corner

  3. Click on Users to open the User Management page

  4. Click on New User and then enter the new user's details and click Invite

  5. The new user will receive an email to login to their account, they can then open Myndstream on any of their devices (Phone, Laptop, Tablet) and control the music in the zones you just setup

  6. When they open Myndstream and they are viewing a zone that is playing on another device (e.g. Spa Lobby playing on the App we just setup) they will see a popup that reminds them that they are controlling the music elsewhere, they just need to choose "Continue" to control the music. This feature makes sure guests receive the best listening experience by preventing unwanted interruptions.

  7. When they take an action that will change the listening experience in that zone they will receive a popup asking them to confirm this action, they just need to press "Confirm" for the action to take place

  8. The bottom bar shows the music that is playing in the zone they are currently controlling. In the bottom right corner we show which zone they are currently controlling, in this case "Spa Lobby". By clicking "Change zone" they can choose another zone to control.

  9. Now having chosen Treatment Room 1 they can now control the music playing in that zone
